NSW South Coast

Victoria isn't time you stopped bringing people home from overseas, its obvious you cannot handle them safely?

It's all very well for the Victorian Government to announce a $32.2 million support package for the state’s tourism industry during its fourth lockdown.

But why import dangerous goods, if you cannot be 100% certain you can handle them, we feel sorry for you guys, let us help.

Hey Victoria take a break from this covid war, let us help you recover, its time as Aussies, we the other states said enough is enough, lets give our Victorians something positive, we are your mates!

If you stop all overseas flights - (no more Ex pats, no more hotel Quantine) - theres no risk of more covid cases, no more shut downs, let us help you, let the other states share your load and share the couple of thousand you are putting in Quarantine, as they say what goes around comes around. We need you guys to be back at work we need your events, your entertainment, your business and your friendly banter.

Its great to hear you have a new package to help tourism which will include $16 million to provide a further round of 80,000 regional tourism vouchers, as well as $11.8 million which will go towards a tourism supplement top-up of $4,500.

Announcing the package, acting Victoria Premier, James Merlino stated “for all tourism operators, across Victoria, in addition to the business support, this will mean that tourism operators will receive $7,000 in additional support.

“There will also be $4.4 million of support for Alpine tourism with grants of up to $15,000 for on-mountain tourism operators and $5,000 for off-mountain tourism operators linked to the ski season.

“This is an acknowledgment that when you think about the ski season, and the disruption in terms of the lockdown and a period of time of restricted travel for Melburnians, this is particularly disproportionally going to impact on our alpine resorts and all of the tourism operators who support that.”

None of these initiatives are any good during lockdowns its time for action. Hey Scotty I would be delighted if you stole this idea. Just saying!
