A GROUP of local tourism operators have partnered with Tourism Fiji to host a series of pre-event familiarisation (famil) tours, giving international buyers, media and story tellers a first-hand look at Fiji’s vibrant adventure tourism offerings.

The famils are a key element of AdventureNEXT Fiji, which will be held from November 20 to November 22 at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa.

The tours will host 20 buyers, 11 international media representatives, and two storytellers from across the globe, including regions such as Australia, New Zealand, North America, and Asia.

Talanoa Treks director Marita Manley said they were excited about the opportunity to show the diversity of Fiji’s adventure travel opportunities to buyers from around the world as part of the pre-AdventureNEXT adventures.

“As small operators who work in partnership with each other to curate culturally immersive itineraries that focus on supporting communities to protect and restore their natural resources, we know that there are many visitors eager to connect in a meaningful way to Fiji’s incredible biodiversity, food, and culture,” Ms Manley said.

“These itineraries allow buyers to experience this first-hand.”

She said having AdventureNEXT hosted in Fiji was a huge opportunity for all of them.

“We’re very proud to be working alongside Tourism Fiji to deliver these itineraries. We look forward to showing the world what makes Fiji so special as an adventure destination.”

Meanwhile, South Sea Cruises Fiji and Asia Sales general manager Loretta Ooms said Awesome Adventures Fiji was excited to collaborate with AdventureNEXT, bringing Fiji’s adventure travel potential to the forefront.

“This partnership not only showcases the unparalleled beauty and culture of the Yasawa Islands but also promotes sustainable travel practices that benefit both the local community and the environment — a vision shared by South Sea Cruises Group,” she said.
