Robert and Gail take on the Humula Heritage Hotel Project Nov 2021 

A 3 year renovation and conversion to Guest House offering Dinner Bed and Breakfast in our home

We will breath life into a 110 year old building which was in ruins it was abandoned too hard basket.

It was left empty for 7 years rotting from water damage from overflowing gutters full of bugs nest dead animals

First job clean out 15 x 14 tons = 210 tons of rubbish junk tyres floors cupboards lounges mattresses fridges and hundreds of 1.5metre rotten stumps

Its not a job for the faint hearted its really a Labour of love.

My Motto Best way to eat an Elephant is one mouthful at a time.

I fell through floor 3 times expecting the bearers to be okay lucky its only 900mm deep

Our first Sunny day oh what a difference 17c instead of 3c

June 17th Pump out the cellar to find its concreted 4 m x 5 m with 6m ceilings with charlies help

concreted up to 1.9m deep just needs tiling and water heating pump

Today we use chain saw to remove a ton of wet floor boards and rotten bearers 

June 16th Day off from Cleaning so we go to Bunnings and shops Best buy work boots his and hers for $10 each

Plus Basketball hoop for $5

June 15th Today we get an electrician to check test and install safety switch

We lit two huge fires in the garden to burn timber junk 

June 14th Plumber fixes water heater burst pipe

We remove kitchen and find rotten floors

June 13th  We test chimney and light fire in apartment two

Give away tyres and rims to locals

The Cellar has over 4 foot of water

Thats over 45cubic metres of water

I get a call from canada a new grandson 

June 12th We strip the bakery 4 rooms of junk

We remove a huge roller door 

June 11th We arrive to find the Ute was towed away

June 9th We fill 3rd 8 cubic metre Skip

We lay 8 sheets of flooring in apartment three

June 7th We fill 2nd Skip with junk in rain

The skip truck bogged in the driveway 

fukk day stripping Junk and building storage shed floors

June 5th Too wet for the 18 ton septic truck 

We filled the first 8 cubic metre skip

Its cold 3c at 9am snow at Tumbarumba

No Power No Heating No lighting

June 2nd The Clean up begins whilst commuting 60km each way

Empty the 19 rooms of all the junk left over from 100 years as a Post office,

General Store, Bakery, Haberdashery, Grocers, Mechanics and Service station.

Four huge truck loads of junk then we can see the floors........
